Arthur Qwak

UNMASKED ! !

Arthur Qwak - alias François Hemmen (did I give away a secret?)

François was the original conceptual artist for Bob Morane. He directed the first the first graphic development phase at Studio Ellipse. His footsteps on the project were huge, and his work (aside from Henri Vernes of course) IS the Bob Morane animated series. As far as style goes, François established everything right at the start.

As I've already written, there wasn't really much to do after François moved on. His first drawings were so beautiful, the only thing left to do was to figure out how they worked so well, and try not to f*** it up...

At the start of the series production, François came to Canada for about three months, along with Valerie Hadida and Jean-Noël Lemoal, to work on the principal model pack. The French Connection. I learned a lot from him. I kept in touch with him throughout the production, and he was able to continue on the project, doing storyboards for three episodes, and more importantly, the opening title sequence.

François is a director, writer, and BD (comics) artist. He is also known for his project 'Dragon Hunters' (a CGI feature film from Futurikon, cartoon series, video games, script writing, etc.)
